loooong bike ride

Thirty miles long. The Jungsts and ourselves set out on a trip to the Botanical Gardens, 15 miles away, this morning. Five bikes with nine riders including a Chariot, child seat, and trailers. It was quite the parade.

Deer were among the sights we saw on the way up.

& when we arrived, the most spectacular gardens awaited us. The wet spring/summer and the mild temperatures have really been good to the Botanical Gardens.

Daisies...a favorite.

Danielle got to experiment with her macro lens today so she was nose deep in nature all day.

Hadley rode her own bike and was such a trooper! The gardens didn't really hold her interest once we got there though...she was only interested in reading (no real surprise). I found the book she was reading to have quite a catchy title.

1, 2, 3, jump!

Soon, it was time for the other half of our ride. Enthusiasm wasn't high to start as you can see.

but things picked up.

I gave the camera to E to document his ride home, since he was so so good in that bike seat. Here's a sample of what we ended up with. There were a lot of shots of my buns...even movies! I'll spare you that...you're welcome.

We were all a little tired, a lot hungry and just plain ready to be done when it got towards the end of the ride. Hadley was especially tired, but she powered through!

Today was about the ride and the adventure with our family. Mission accomplished! & we all survived!

lovin' our bikes

Each year it gets easier. M is helpful and we all just enjoy the ride.

inaugural ride...

...to Target. Mimi will laugh.

It started off a little rough, with my bike chain flying off and me not having any brakes there for a minute, but Andrew fixed it right up and we were back on the road. These little ninjas were the entertainment while daddy did the repair.

E practiced his old man impersonation...

We ended the trip with a visit to a playground we don't often go to. & Andrew lingered just long enough after E jumped off the see saw for me to snap a picture. Looks like fun, daddy!
