march randoms

Ellis met Tom Watson, author of Stick Dog, and got his book signed. Funny story...the author was going to sign books for the kids...away from the kids. I get it, but Ellis was so bummed. Mrs. Mitchell marched him back into that auditorium after his presentation and asked if Ellis could get his book signed now. Tom Watson happily obliged and Mrs. Mitchell snapped a picture for me. Ellis was the only kid in school to get a personal autograph. Officially, Mrs. Mitchell is the best...and will not stand for her kids to be bummed.

St. Patty's Day 'staches thanks to our friends in Pittsburgh.

NW Solo & Ensemble Competition - He performed very well, showed improvement over last year and earned another Division 1 Placement...and a medal.

performances

First we celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day at school with an always moving and wonderful performance by our kids. I am amazed every year how the teachers keep this show so powerful. Why do I always cry? Ellis' class sang while using sign language...so adorable and sweet. Morgan's class had a dance number which was fun. His place was too far back into the stage to get any good pictures though...bummed.

Next was Orchestra Day at ETHS followed by a performance in the big auditorium. Morgan was easily the youngest kid there, and I must admit, I was nervous about my little guy in such a big school. Gramps stopped by though and helped a momma feel a bit better. He really enjoyed his day, and the performance that evening did not disappoint.

Getting ready to play with his King Arts Concert Orchestra. I believe he is taking in the greatness of the auditorium. Huge by high school standards!

Playing with the high school orchestra. He was given a buddy to hang with...good kid. Morgan is the little guy in the back.

See??
