M has a knack for finding four leaf clovers! He's found a few before, and this time I think he was looking for all of 3 minutes, before he announced his discovery.

christmas money...spent!

As of yesterday, M still had some Christmas money left to spend...waiting for that perfect inspiration, I suppose. He surprised all of us when he said he wanted to get an ice cream maker that's a ball. An even bigger surprise was that I knew exactly what he was talking about and where to get it.

Enter, the Play and Freeze Ice Cream Maker.

Cream, sugar and your flavor on one side (strawberry), ice and rock salt on the other. Then, get rollin'!

Thirty minutes later...

ICE CREAM!

I had my doubts it would work, but it definitely did and our strawberry ice cream tasted great!  A fun...and yummy...purchase, M!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

As in many a home with kids, Seuss books are a regular in the night time reading rotation. We felt the need to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday today with a fun little dinner...

...green eggs and ham, a strawberry and banana cat hat, and some of the Yink's pink ink (strawberry smoothie).

We read some of the books while we ate and the boys ended up cleaning their plates...that NEVER happens. Everyone wins!!

This little project was perfect for the boys. Just stuff the little puff balls into the pine cone...and...instant Christmas tree. Also, no mess. That's MY kind of perfect. Pop them into a jar of "snow" / epsom salt, and the display is complete.

Well, here's to being flexible, because M would not, under any circumstances, sit down to write a letter to the man in red. M & E ended up cutting, coloring and stapling a loooong paper chain garland for Mimi's Christmas tree and surprised her with it when she got home from work. It was definitely worth it...
