halloween night

It rained and rained...and then rained some more, but by the time trick or treating came around, mother nature decided to cut us a break. We were grateful. Fun times began immediately.

Happy Halloween!

an ode to Calvin and his alter egos...

Recently, Calvin & Hobbes has become a nightly read with the boys and their Halloween costume choices followed suit. ...challenge accepted. Though I may have made the costumes, these two brought ALL the personality. Truly a labor of love and the Hobbes doll is something we can keep forever.

halloween fun before halloween

Lately, both the boys have really been enjoying knights and all that comes with them...swords,shields, horses, catapults, castles. So it wasn't a huge surprise they wanted to be knights for Halloween. M threw me a small curve when he announced he wasn't just going to be a knight, he was going to be a "skeleton knight"! We managed to piece something acceptable together.

The boys are pleased with their costumes, as you might be able to tell with the intensity in their poses. Here is the good knight...Sir E.

...& the evil Skeleton Knight! Halloween night will reveal a glow in the dark skeleton under his tunic.

We were lucky enough to be invited to one of our friend's neighborhoods for a Halloween parade and Trick or Treat on Sunday. It was a lot of fun for the kids and the adults...think wagons with coolers in them following the kiddos around the neighborhood.

& E found an unmanned candy basket! He only took one though. ...because he is the good knight...
