Welcome 2009!

We rang in the new year in a tired and kind of sick parent style this year, but it was just as well. We saw the ball drop and shortly after...went-to-bed. Really, I can't complain.

I did manage to come up with some resolutions this year. Here they are for your enjoyment.
  • Be a better listener.
  • Recognize all friends and families birthdays that are on my calendar (come on, if I don't know when your birthday is, I can't send the happy wishes!)
  • Be more creative with M's playtime.
  • Let people know what their presence in my life means to me.
Happy New Year!

To bring you up to date...

Morgan is learning more and more words and his sense of humor is definitely starting to show. He is really interested in feeding himself...with utensils (what a mess!). He is more fun everyday. In bigger news, he walks! He looks a bit like Frankenstein, but he's doing it. This started up the day after Christmas and he's getting more stable everyday.

He's pretty proud of himself when he gets going.

Don't forget to breathe!!

Now, a brief interlude with couple of random photos.

Post-bath hair styling.

Caught in the act. He likes to look out the windows.

* KEEP GOING, THERE IS MORE TO THIS POST!*

A Snuggle Puppy Christmas!!

First we went to Florida for a few days. The weather was perfect. It was nice to be able to be outside again. Of course, we enjoyed spending time with everyone. We just don't see them enough. The kids played together so well. We all read and sang the book, "Snuggle Puppy", more times than I can remember. Hadley's rendition was the best, but we loved Imogen's BIG SMOOCH at the end. Luckily, we were able to find that book once we got home. They played and played every day until Morgan couldn't keep his eyes open one second longer.

One night after dinner at Philippi Creek.

Miss Immy eating sushi... good job with those chop sticks!

Hadley being sweet...as usual.

Need a ride?

Playing footsie with Imogen while holding on to Hadley's "baked banana flop" or a pot holder to those of us who've lost their 4 1/2 year old creativity.

We were back in Indiana by Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day and for days afterwards, we spent time with EVERYONE and we had a lot of fun. Morgan got better and better at unwrapping gifts. Eventually, I think he thought all of them were for him!

Christmas morning at Mimi's...here we are checking out a new bath time book.

Helping Papaw unwrap his present.

Purdue's "bowl" game

This was the day after Christmas, so we all went to Grace Ann and Gabe's house. Really, it was just a good excuse to make the trip. The game wasn't that great, but Morgan did take his first official steps while we were there! It felt good to be able to share that with some of our best friends.

Purdue scored a TOUCHDOOWWWN!

New Year's Eve

Hanging out before the party.

This year, Morgan stayed with Mimi while we went up to Lafayette. We stayed local and it was one of our best New Year's yet! Brian's restaurant opened their doors to our private party and we enjoyed great food, music and of course...company, all night long.

Finger mustaches...great idea, Andrew!

The gang. We are so lucky to have such great friends!

All this wears a guy out!
